Hello All,
On Monday morning 8/22, I birded the mild cold front that came through. There were a few migrants about including 2 Black-and-White Warblers and 2 Redstarts (new for the year - #130) and 5 flyover Bobolinks. There were also increased numbers of some common birds such as Kingbird, Pewee, Blue Grosbeak and a flock of 200 grackle that may migrants.
In cucumber and potato field news, the field at North Oak Grove and Kinder Rds has been disked and is now very dry. Even the Killdeer have moved on, but there are still numbers of Horned Lark. However, the potato field that is contiguous and somewhat visible from Hickory Hill Rd has been harvested. In DE, the potato fields at Wesley Church Rd and Baker Rd have been harvested this week. A quick check yesterday evening did not find anything interesting.
The retention pond at the Bridgeville Food Lion had a Great egret yesterday and a Greater Yellow this morning.

Good Birding,
Glen Lovelace III
Seaford, DE
