Sorry for the late post but we were driving out and back to Iowa and
then our email server was toast since Thursday.

Anyway, Jane Kostenko and I started our drive toward Iowa on Thursday.
We arrived at the intersection of Blank and Bald Knob Roads, near
Frostburg, around 4:30pm and stayed there for about an hour. In the time
that we were there, at least one Sedge Wren sang only twice. We never
did see one.

The homeowner of the large stone house just northeast of the
intersection was out walking and stopped to chat. She said the farmer
who owns the land had just mowed the field to the southwest of the
intersection on Thursday and was set to mow the wren field any day. It's
possibly been done already. The field is/was full of weeds but he'll use
it for hay anyway.

Not much else noteworthy there other than a nice flock of about 2 dozen
Bobolinks and a family of Eastern Kingbirds with some speckly winged
youngsters foraging from the power lines along Bald Knob Rd. We were
serenaded by a pair of Barred Owls at the MOS cabin at Carey Run during
the night!
