Blue Mash Nature Trail, Zion Road Section, Montgomery County, 18 Sep 05,
0730-1030

I met up with John Pangborn at the beginning of the trail and encountered
several other birders along the way. It was not overly birdy, however,
there was a nice mix of migrants throughout the morning to include: Coopers
Hawk, Broad-winged Hawk, Chimney Swift, Eastern Phoebe, Great Crested
Flycatcher, empids, White-eyed Vireo, Red-eyed Vireo, Chestnut-sided
Warbler, Magnolia Warbler, Black-throated Green Warbler, Black & White
Warbler, Am. Redstart, Common Yellowthroat, Scarlet Tanager, Red-breasted
Grosbeak, Blue Grosbeak, Indigo Bunting and Bobolink. Also observed was a
cooperative Savannah Sparrow and 4 just about to fledge Am. Goldfinch
shoehorned into their nest.
