Richard,

Welcome to Maryland. You don't mention where you live (or where you
came from such that the Northern Cardinal is a treat), but the Maryland
Ornithological Society and Baltimore Bird Club have regional birding
trips listed on their websites. Any of those trips/events will help you
connect with the local birding community.

Subject: [MDOSPREY] new to the area

Hi all,

I'm new to the area, having just moved to Maryland in the last week.

I'm currently residing in Cockeysville and would be interested in
meeting with any groups/individuals that know of some good areas to bird
nearby.

I'm so excited as I just had my first Northern Cardinal in almost two
years this morning ! Now if I can just find a Tufted Titmouse, I'llbe
in heaven. I also had a yellow-shafted Northern Flicker today outside
the Cockeysville library.

I look forward to hearing from some of you soon and to finding some good
birds.

Good birding,
Richard
