As I was walking to my car this morning I heard a common raven call several times.  When I surprisingly looked up it was immediately flushed from its perch by several unhappy crows (which were quite vocal giving a nice comparison).  The raven flew on as the victorious crows gloated, so I didn't get a great look at the bird.  The call, however, was very distintive.
