Hello All,
	An update on recent sightings at Oak Grove.  On 9/21, I had 44 species including 7 species of warbler (Parula, Magnolia, B&W, Redstart, Pine, Palm and Yellowthroat).  Most of the warblers were on Horseshoe Rd in DE.  Other migrants included House Wren and Catbird.  Found 5 Wild Turkey on the neighbor's farm (MD).  But the bird of the day was an immature male Harrier that cruised by (new for the year - #143).  Harrier is typically a 1-2 times a year bird here unless one winters locally.  Sparrow numbers were way down with only 1 Chipper and 1 Field.
	On 9/25, I tallied 47 species, again with 7 warbler sp., trading the Pine for an immature female Blackburnian.  I acted on a hunch and checked North Oak Grove Rd (DE) as the sun rose.  The spot had been dead all fall, but my hunch was right.  There was a large mixed flock that included most of the warblers, a Scarlet Tanager, numbers of Blue Grosbeak and Indigo Buntings and a single White-throated Sparrow.  An influx of birds was apparent with totals of 17 grosbeak, 26 buntings, 15 Chippers and 2 Song Sp.  The birds seem to be found more in fall/winter type groups and locations than post-breeding areas.  
	The big local news of the week was that part of the cutoff woods on Kinder Rd burned on 9/23.  From where Kinder Rd crosses the railroad, it burned west along Kinder and SE along the RR until it was contained by a bulldozer cut through the small pines.  It walked the new cut and there were still some birds in the burned area including a western Palm Warb.  While walking there a Merlin zipped by (new for the year - #144).  Returning to the pond on my farm, I flushed a Kingfisher (new for the year - #145).  Both of these are typically 1-2 per year.
	On 9/28, I had 46 species including 10 warblers inc. Parula, 1 female Black-throated Green, 1 male B&W, 1 baypoll type, 1 Yellow-Rump, 1 male Blackburnian, 1 Redstart, 3 Pine, 1 western Palm, and 6 Yellowthroat.  All warblers seen on the farm in MD.  The Yellow-Rump and 4 Ruby-crowned Kinglets were new fall arrivals.  Oddly, I had my second Kingfish this week after none all year.
