Russ Greenberg presents:

"Shade Grown Coffee: The Migratory Bird Connection"

Russ Greenberg, Director of the Smithsonian Migratory
Bird Center (SMBC), will talk about how the SMBC
encourages production of shade grown coffee and
conservation of migratory birds through its "Bird
Friendly" Coffee program. "Bird Friendly" coffee
comes from Latin American farms that plant coffee
under a canopy of trees, rather than clearing land of
all other vegetation, providing quality forest-like
habitat for birds. Funds from the sale of "Bird
Friendly" coffee supports important conservation
research.

All are welcome, members and non-members alike, and
light refreshments will be served. There is no charge
for this program.
