Ensure Funding for Hurricane-Ravaged Refuges in the Gulf Coast Region

Problem:
Hurricanes Katrina and Rita have ravaged national wildlife refuges
throughout the Gulf Coast, resulting in hundreds of millions of dollars
worth of damage. Congress is expected to take up another emergency
supplemental appropriations bill within weeks that will address the
impacts of Katrina and Rita.

Solution:
Just like the millions of displaced people of the Gulf Coast, wildlife
that call this area home need our help. Funds to address damage to
refuges must be included in the next emergency supplemental bill. Urge
your Senators and Representative to support funding for refuges.

Action Needed:
Contact your U.S. Representative and U.S. Senators now—urge them not to
forget the wildlife and wild areas that were severely damaged in our
recent natural disasters. Click on the appropriate link below to utilize
the NWRA's Refuge Action Network. It makes taking action on refuge issues
easy and is an effective way to contact elected officials and other
decision-makers. Tell your elected officials to ensure national wildlife
refuge needs are addressed in the next emergency supplemental before
Congress.

Deadline for responding:
Please take action by Tuesday, November 01, 2005.
