Hi, all - My apologies to those who consider the West Virginia eastern panhandle to be in a parallel universe even though it is practically in the middle of Maryland. Anyway, on Saturday (10/22), there was a flock of Canada Geese on the golf course at The Woods Resort in Berkeley Co. Among them was one goose that was substantially larger than the others, with bright orange legs, quite a bit of white on the face, an all-dark chest, a relatively flat face, a long neck, and extensive spotting on the back of the neck. A hybrid, perhaps, but with what? An immature or unusually marked greater white-front? I couldn't work it out.

I've posted some photos on http://home.earthlink.net/~jboughton/id17.html. Any responses, off line if you prefer, would be much appreciated.

Thanks -
