The rain does seem to have caused the juncos to fall from the sky and swarm
around my platform feeder. I counted at least 15. They were joined by one
field sparrow picking off seeds from the grass under the feeder. White
throated sparrows are rummaging around the brush pile on the side of the
house. I went out and tossed some seed into the pile to give them something
to find.
I had been leaving a jar of peanut butter outside by the hanging holey log
that I would smear the peanut butter on for the woodpeckers and others.
Yesterday morning, the lid was on the ground and the jar was missing. I
suspect a raccoon ... not sure that a squirrel could unscrew a lid.
Enjoy the wet ... whatever ...
