Today, 10/28, I took a quick lunchtime trip to Southwest Area Park in 
Baltimore County to look for swallows & sparrows. No swallows, but 2 CHIMNEY SWIFTS 
were foraging intensively over the weedy field area just uphill from the boat 
launch. There were zillions of wispy little flying insects over the field, 
which seemed to be drawing the swifts down low. This is by far the latest I've 
ever seen them. Other sightings were 5 GREAT EGRETS, the most I've ever seen 
there at once, a SAPSUCKER, about 25 SONG SPARROWS, about 10 SAVANNAH, and one 
FIELD.

SWAP always has something interesting. Last week on 10/18 I had a good study 
of an adult PEREGRINE perched in the large dead tree overlooking the marsh on 
the way to the boat ramp.
