Helen Horrocks, Betty Smyle, and I tried the VA side from Seneca Road VA Rt
602 in Dranesville -- JUST short of RT 7 -- take Old Georgetown @ Dranseville,
a short distance {~ 60 yards to Seneca Road -- to the gate at the end -
follow the road ~ 1/2 mile until it makes a hard left and dirt/gravel goes
straight to A CREEK that is a bit tough to cross just before you get to the river
{with a 500 mm Lens and Swarovski Scope} the smarter people convinced me not
to cross - there is a log across the stream and West the stream gets smaller
but very muddy -- Binocs only I would have crossed, but not with the 500 mm
Lens -- Jim MacConnell went there Friday but didn't see the Neo for sure, but
had a close view of a White-winged Scoter! We went to the Violette's Lock
location and immediately saw the Neo. Recommendation -- wear hip boots and walk
across the stream, preparing for lots of mud!
