I was also at Terrapin Park today and saw two PUFI. Bird of the day was a
Golden Eagle flying south very low and near beach. It cruised to the Bay
Bridge, caught some thermals/updrafts near there and after circling for a few
minutes continued south. Around 11:20
Had a 'raptor moment'- as I was looking at it through my binoculars, it
briefly turned its head and stared at me, very cool.
Also saw some odd behavior. Was watching some birds on the ground on the
forest floor, ruffling through the leaves. Thought they might be Winter Wrens,
but were very quite. Turned out to be a pair of RC Kinglets. Never have seen
them feeding on the ground before.
