While taking my morning walk along the twopath, I noticed a bird fly across
the canal and land only eight feet away on the edge of the water. I was
dumfounded to see that it was an adult snow bunting.
In more than twenty years of walking the towpath, I have never seen this
species and do not expect to in the next twenty! I did not, of course, have my
camera with me.
It was just upstream from Blockhouse Point.
