Apropos of Norm's post...

Just had an email from my nephew in England that the UK's first confirmed record
of Magnificent Frigatebird (an adult male) was found exhausted in a field in Stropshire (!!) on Monday -- the farmer called and said he had "some dodgy sort of crow..." -- it was taken into care but later died. This is only one of many birds (esp., Chimney Swifts and Laughing Gulls) reaching the UK in the past couple of weeks considered to be refugees from Hurricane Wilma.

Of course the "state to the south" also had a Frigatebird yesterday, at Kiptopeake; if one of the two Delaware birds then it passed through Maryland unseen (dang!). It was with a kettle of TVs, by the way, so keep your eyes peeled!
