Hi all,
It seemed very active this morning while out with the dog, here at home in
Ashton, Montgomery County, MD. A late (at least for here) phoebe was seen
early perched in an apple tree then flew into the willows by the pond. The
highlight of the very brief morning walk however was a very late NASHVILLE
WARBLER, feeding and flitting low in the shrubs in the stock nursery next to our
pond. I saw it for a quick moment before it disappeared behind a low bush and my
mind registered Nashville immediately, but perhaps just a very colorful R-C
Kinglet? I spished and luckily it reappeared on my side of the bush long
enough for good looks before it went further into the nursery. It was a very
bright (yellow with an olive green back) individual. It really caught my eye.

I think the latest I have seen one around here is mid-October at Brookside
gardens.
