The Hammond's was seen by me (and others) at 12 noon, and again at 1:15
today, Sunday, the twelfth day that it has been seen.
The same "modus operandi" both sightings today. A sudden appearance from
"nowhere" to the leafless trees along side the vine about 40 feet up. Then a quick
flutter into the vine for a berry, then off. Both times it came from, and
seemed to leave to, an area behind the stone house. Today much flicking of the
wings, almost every second. How different acting than in the first few days when
the bird would linger along the path, and sit for long periods in one spot in
easy view of the 'scopes, and with little wing flicking.
Today, after the second visit, and before flying away, the bird vocalized a
lot. It said. "peep, peep. peep. peep..." about 15 times in 15 seconds. It
didn't appear to open its mouth very much at all, but it clearly was the bird
making the vocalizations.
