Hi Folks,

A drake Eurasian Wigeon has returned to the Fishing Center at Loch Raven
Reservoir in Baltimore Co. Elaine and I visited there around 4 p.m. this
afternoon (Sun., 4 Dec), and saw the duck among numerous other waterfowl at
fairly close range. Directions: from the Baltimore beltway (I-695), take
exit 27, and go north on Dulaney Valley Rd., crossing the reservoir to a
fork in the road, then continuing to the right on Dulaney Valley Rd. After
the fork, the fishing center is about 1/2 mile on the right. There is no
parking there, so what most folks do is park along the next road to the
left, Stone Hill Rd., being sure to park beyond the "no parking" signs.
Some crude estimates of what all was there:

Canada Goose--100s
Gadwall--2 males
Am. Wigeon--dozens
Eur. Wigeon--1
Am. Black Duck--2
Ring-necked Duck--100s
Redhead--3 (2m 1f)
Bufflehead--2 females
Hooded Merganser--10
Ruddy Duck--1
Pied-billed Grebe--10
Horned Grebe--1 (from bridge on Dulaney Valley Rd.)
Barred Owl--1, responded to my calls
B. Kingfisher--1
