GlacierBoy am I glad I decided to work at home today, because as I was making my coffee I looked out and noticed a young male YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER in my feeder tree. A first for my yard!
This is the third new yard bird for me this year. Last month I had a FLICKER and a WB NUTHATCH, both new to my feeder tree.
This is the same tree that was butchered earlier this year by our community association contractor. Perhaps there is a good side to all this -- the woodpeckers and nuthatches seem to find it more attractive!
