Great way to kick off the new year seeing 3 adult  eagles over Liberty Reservoir, viewable from the dam.  One of the  birds appeared to fall from the sky like a shot-up biplane; is this  considered playfulness this time of year or part of a mating  ritual?  
  
 I have decided to schlep the scope on future  hikes to the dam as a large flotilla of ducks were too far for my 8X  binos.  I did see one female long-tailed duck just above the dam.
