Hi,
I led a "first of the month" trip to Blue Mash this morning. It was
decidedly quiet most of the morning, but we finally ended the morning with really
nice views of many American Tree Sparrows (perhaps a dozen total), Purple
Finches and Cedar Waxwings, among all the rest. Also had a single REDHEAD on the
small pond with a small flock of Ring-necked Ducks, which all flew and went to
the big pond (where they were when I left only a short while ago).

Other nice finds were an immature Bald Eagle flying over us near the end of
the small pond, Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers, immature Sharp-shinned hawk,
Red-tailed and Red-shouldered Hawks, Great Blue Heron, Golden-crowned Kinglets,
and lots of other woodpeckers.

We ended with 42 species. 9 participants. Weather was cold early (18-20
degrees) warming to the high 30's and partly cloudy.
