I had my first two Lesser Black-backed Gulls of the New Year at 
Schoolhouse Pond during my lunchtime walk.  There was a 1st winter Lesser 
Black-backed Gull and a 2nd winter Lesser Black-backed Gull mixed among 
the Herring and Ring-billed Gulls.  I don't see the 2nd winter plumage too 
often.  Also mixed in was a 1st winter Great Black-backed Gull.  There 
were approximately 120 Ring-billed Gulls and over 50 Herring Gulls 
comprising the majority of the group.
