Join the Audubon Society of the District of Columbia
Join DC Audubon in our 8th annual Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National
Historical Park Mid-Winter Bird Survey Saturday, January 21, 2006. (Rain
date: Saturday, January 28.)
The format will be as in previous years; tally of species and numbers on a
mile-by-mile basis using the mileposts along the towpath. If you are
interested in participating, please contact Kristen Berry as soon as
possible at or 202-549-1032.
This is a DC Audubon event, realized over its 184.5-mile length by a
multi-regional and multi-organizational effort. Kristen

As with Christmas counts, participants not sure of their ID abilities are
very welcome, and will be teamed up with experienced birders. If you know of
anyone who would like to participate in the count, or help compile the count
information please have them contact me ASAP.
We need your help. There are still some stretches of the Canal that are not
covered for this year's count, and there are many teams that would welcome
additional help. Furthermore, there is a need for volunteers to help
compile this year's count results.
