I am so sorry to hear of the loss of this wonderful person. Just a couple of weeks ago, he was a wonderful host to me at the sighting of the Townsend's Warbler at the C and O canal. I have only met him about 4 or 5 times but he always left such a wonderful impression of caring, warmth, and interest with me. He and I have exchanged e-mails together, sharing photos and interesting bird notes. I hope that when I am out and about birding among our fellow birders, I have left that kind of impression on others as he did. What a great person and a great loss.

Norm, I am sure you don't want everyone sending condolences here but I couldn't help it, I am sorry. I am even going against what I normally believe in with the MD Osprey. I will pay it forward when I see you again.
