Talbot County Bird Club Birds in Caroline Co 1 - 22

      Hi  all   the Talbot County Bird club   held  its first bird walk  of  
2006   on Sun Jan  22 , 06  led by Danny Poet . we  scanned the fields  of 
Caroline County  near Ridgely for Lonspurs  and the lake  at Tuckahoe State 
Park for waterfowl .    Six hardy birders showed up we saw about  34 
species.   No  Longspurs  but  lots of Horned Larks though. Birds seen

Black Vulture
Turkey Vulture
Canada  Geese
Mute Swan      1   in pond at sparks Rd
Wood Duck
Mallard
Bald  Eagle   1 adult
Copper's  Hawk
Red shouldered Hawk  -  over the lake at Tuckahoe State Park , nice looks
Red Tailed Hawk
Kestrel
Ring Billed Gull
Rock Dove
Mourning Dove
Belted Kingfisher            1  male     at the lake at Tuckahoe
Red Bellied Woodpecker
Downy Woodpecker
Pileated Woodpecker           seen by  3 rd car only  flew across the road
Blue Jay
American Crow
Horned Larks         several places
Carolina Chickadee
Golden Crowned Kinglets
Eastern  Bluebirds
Mockingbird
Starling
Cedar  Waxwing      2     in tree of a yard as we drove by    first car 
maybe the second saw it before
                                   they  flew off
Song Sparrow
White throated Sparrow
Dark Eyed Junco
Red winged Blackbirds          Huge  flock  all  looked like Redwings though
Common Grackle
House Sparrow
