Even as carefully as I enter my BBS (Breeding Bird Survey) data, I still
find mistakes when I proof the data. BBS edits could also find data entry
errors. I also know that, over the years since 1963, I have blundered out
mistaken identities or even recorded them only to have someone question my
ID and find that I did make a mistake. All data collected by anyone should
go through review and edits as anyone can make a mistake. Just work with
banding data for 33 years and you will see what I mean (and I include
myself in the bander category).

Cheers,
Kathy
