Roosevelt Island 2/23

Whatsup Everyone-
Got off work early today and cruised over to Roosevelt Island around
5.  The sun was fading, but the birds were out.  Best looks were of a
RED-SHOULDERED HAWK perched eye-high on a stump then on the ground
drinking delicious swampwater.  Check out pictures here:

Also on the island were
SONG and SWAMP SPARROWS,
DOWNY and  RED BELLIED WOODPECKERS,
CAROLINA and WINTER WRENS,
GREAT BLUE HERON,
MALLARDS,
BLACK VULTURES,
Most of the action was on either side of the boardwalk on the side of
the island facing the Kennedy Center.
