Hello all. 

Some good waterfowl numbers on the Northern Anne Arundel County waterways 
this gloomy afternoon. Several large flocks of RW Blackbirds, Common 
Grackles, American Robins and two smaller groups of Cedar Waxwings also 
livened things up a bit. 

Highlights:

Orchard Beach (Stoney Creek, northern terminus with Patapsco River):

DC Cormorant: 2
Mallard: 112 Loosely massed, some loafing in the small cove
Bufflehead: 5
G. Scaup: 2
Canvasback: c. 300
Ruddy Duck: c. 150
RB Gull: 45
GBB Gull: 2
A. Robin: 80+ In trees and flying
C. Grackle: 200+ In 2 flyovers

Stoney Beach (Patapsco River and Cox Creek Cove):

G. Blue Heron: 1
C. Goose: 8
Mallard: 6
L. Scaup: 18 In the cove
H. Merganser: 6 In the cove
RB Gull: 4
A. Robin: 120+  In trees and on lawns
C. Waxwing: 40 In 2 groups 
RW Blackbird: 150+ Several flyovers and several calling from phrags

Solley's Cove/Carbide Road (Curtis Creek):

G. Blue Heron: 1
C. Goose: 18
Mallard: 28
Bufflehead: 1
C. Goldeneye: 3 In cove, close views
L. Scaup: c. 500 Scattered on Curtis Creek
RB Gull: 8
GBB Gull: 2

Kembo Road (Terminus of Swan Creek, off of Patapsco River):

A. Black Duck: 2
H. Merganser: 4
B. Kingfisher: 1

Brandon Shores Pond (Brandon Woods Industrial Park):

C. Goose: 4
Mallard: 1
A. Black Duck: 3
RN Duck: 1
H. Merganser: 5

Chestnut Hill Cove (Nabb's Creek Access Area):

DC Cormorant: 1
Mallard: 12
Bufflehead: 6
L. Scaup: 70+  Scattered
A. Coot: 32
RB Gull: 44
H. Gull: 1
A. Robin: 80+ Trees and lawns

Riviera Beach (Pond Area, off of Patapsco River):

DC Cormorant: 8 On White Rocks
M. Swan: 2
Mallard: 34
Bufflehead: 73  A good number for this spot
G. Scaup: 320  c. 300, plus a small raft of 20
LT DUCK: 5  Three drakes, two hens
RB Gull: 20
H. Gull: 4
GBB Gull: 8  Six on White Rocks and two in flight
