The Atlas of Breeding Birds of Maryland and the District of
Columbia (Robbins & Blom, 1996) showed confirmed breeding of
Sharp-shinned Hawks in one block in Allegany Co. and in 6 blocks
in Garrett Co., with 2 blocks probable and 13 possible in
Garrett. No other counties had evidence of breeding.
I do not know if there has been a trend toward more SSHA breeding
in this atlas.

... So, do Sharpies nest in Maryland? I am wondering whether the
one
that has been hunting near my bird feeder for the past several
weeks
is planning on staying. ... |
