Yesterday afternoon and again this morning I've got Robins singing. First
I've heard this year.
I've also had House Finches singing and the Common Grackles have arrived in
town.
Titmouse are singing -peter, peter, peter
Mockingbirds have starting to sing again too

Also, there is a huge roost for American and Fish Crows in my area. Really
close to the BW Parkway and Rt. 450. There are certainly hundreds of them,
perhaps thousands. You can watch them fly in from all directions, but
notably, if you are on the BW Parkway at dusk you can see them flying in and
along the parkway from the North and South.

At dawn the crows disperse and there are usually huge numbers of them flying
south over my house. Yesterday, I noticed some were dropping in and
starting to stake out territories in the neighborhood by selecting a perch
and calling, chasing off smaller birds and the like.

In other bird drama, Starlings have stolen all of my House Sparrow nest on
my window overhang.

I feel like winter isn't over yet in spite of the relatively mild weather.
But, it sure is nice to have some songs again.
