While conducting field work at Dreyton Manor in Kent County today, I
observed two BLACK-CAPPED CHICKADEEs among a flock of 5-6 chickadees. I did
not get a look at the other chickadees with bins, but at least one of them
was a Carolina by call. The two black-cappeds were very vocal. I am not a
frequent birder in Kent County, but it seems to me that these birds must be
migrating through rather than having wintered in this area. Walter, any
input on this?
