Hi Folks,

Didn't have to go far to get some nice March birds the past two days. Late
yesterday afternoon Elaine and I saw our first ever yard FOX SPARROW in the
back yard. It flew off towards the front of the house, and when we
subsequently went around to investigate, we found THREE of them scratching
in some thick pine straw. This morning after I had left for work, Elaine
had over 50 TUNDRA SWANs fly over the house, and shortly thereafter she saw
the resident RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH cavorting with the local White-breasted
Nuthatch. This evening while working in the yard, I kept hearing the song
of PINE WARBLER, and eventually one flew into a nearby tree where we could
get a good look at this first-of-season bird.

Also, last evening we returned to the vicinity of Cabin Branch Creek, near
Burwood Plaza here in Ferndale, and had several AM. WOODCOCKs vocalizing and
displaying. One landed in the path in front of us, and I was able to put a
light on it for some excellent views.
