I hit the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens and Hains Pt. on Saturday, 3/18.
Highlights were:
At least 2 Rusty Blackbirds at KAG
1 Fox Sparrow at KAG
5 Horned Grebes on the Potomac off Hains
Killdeer numbers continue to build at KAG since I first saw them on Feb.
25th
Still a fair number of Lesser Scaup flying up and down the river, but I
couldn't pull any other interesting ducks out of the mix.
The Peregrines continue to put on a good show on the RR bridge, and have
been joined by the Ospreys nesting on the opposite end.
And on a belated note - on Mar 9th there was a calling Am. Kestrel flying
between buildings behind the Doubletree at Scott Circle. And today I saw
another Kestrel on the top corner of one of the buildings at the north end
of National Airport.
Good birding,
