For the 4th straight year an adult Red-shouldered Hawk was on the same nest where Cabin John Creek runs into the Potomac, about Mile 7.5. It had a red-something on the tip of its beak...perhaps from food.
As I was watching it, an adult Bald Eagle soared overhead. Then there was a roar coming from the river, like a bunch of kids at a b-ball tournament. When I got there, I found a dozen TUNDRA SWANS in mid-river. Later, they were joined by another near-two dozen. They were backlit by the sun, with the water sparkling...beautiful!
