Yesterday while visiting the Carroll Lutheran Village near Westminster to make arrangements to do a program and birdwalk there I saw four Chipping Sparrows, my first of the season. They were in a thicket with a small flock of Song Sparrows and Juncos. Some were not yet in full breeding plumage, still showing a thin central crown stripe.
