Rob Hinton alerted me and my wife Darina to the Glossy Ibis this morning (I forgot to check the Osprey list). Thanks Rob!

I also ran into two other Osprey list people on the boardwalk--one had a nice Kowa scope and tripod that allowed me to get very good views of 7 Green-Winged Teals (thanks!!!!):

Other birds we saw (or heard) at Kenilworth included:

  1 Osprey
  Rusty Blackbird (small flock
  Bald Eagle (Juvenile)
  3 Kildeer
  1 Double Crested Cormorant
  3 Red-winged blackbird
  1 Wood Duck (male)
  Red-shouldered Hawk (heard)
  Blue Jay
  Several Northern Mockingbirds
  1 Turkey Vulture
  Many Ring-billed gulls
  Several Carolina Chicadees
  Several Song Sparrows
  2 American Black Ducks
  Dark-eyed Juncos
  European Starlings
  1 Blue Heron
  Many Canada Geese
  Mallards
  Fish Crows

  Mammals:
Beaver (swimming in same pond as the Glossy Ibis believe it or not)

  National Arboretum:

Made a quick stop to see the red-headed woodpecker, which was in its usual spot near the columns. Also spotted a Red-Bellied woodpecker, some Dark-eyed Juncos, a Song Sparrow and an Eastern Phoebe.

I should be around the Navy Yard this week so if I can duck out for lunch, I'll scan the pier for any signs of Neotropic Cormorants. We have an injured Ring-billed Gull on the yard living on McDonald's french fries. He's a hardy fellow that has yet to be taken down by all the ferral cats that inhabit the yard.
