I took an extended walk deep into the Ivy Swamp this morning and was
rewarded with three singing Yellow-throated Warblers. These birds were deep
in the swamp (half hour--45 minute walk in the swamp). Other birds seen and
heard were a pair of Red-shouldered Hawks, Bald Eagles, many White-breasted
Nuthatches, Wood Ducks, two Turkeys, many Pileateds, and a small flock of
Myrtle Warblers. The swamp is still full of White-throats and Juncos
although I neither saw nor heard any wrens. The fields in Carioline County
held many singing Horned Larks.
