O.K., since I didn't start til nearly 1400, will confess I initially had in mind
some early morel mushrooms. It was quickly obvious my fungal friends were not in attendence, so I concentrated on a brief (2 hr.) ramble for the
winged critters. How could I not when, as soon as I stepped into the woods
I was greeted by a naked eye yellow Palm Warbler and a Pileated W'pckr.
serenaded me from nearby? It got better for a while, then waned. The total
