Weather:
62-76 degrees; sunny; good to excellent visibility; winds northerly, 5-12
mph.

Raptor Observations:
Bald Eagle made a dramatic mid-air steal of an Osprey's fish.  Seven
Merlins from 3-5 pm (DST).  Flight picked up in the afternoon when the
winds became stronger.

Non-raptor Observations:
Swallows, especially Northern Rough-winged and Tree, were pouring by in the afternoon.  Orange Sulphurs, Gray Hairstreaks, Cabbage Whites, and Eastern Tiger Swallowtails were numerous and heading north.  One of two Red-headed Woodpeckers calling to one another turned out to be a Northern Mockingbird.

Site Description:
Fort Smallwood Park is located on the western shore of Chesapeake Bay at
the mouth of the Patapsco River, 11 miles south of Baltimore, MD.  Best
winds are from the southwest.
