Dear All
In a quick spin round Roosevelt Island before work this morning the
highlights were:
Orchard Oriole and Warbling Vireo both singing in the open trees by the car
park.
4 Louisiana Waterthrushes, Yellow, Black & White and Yellow-rumped (30)
Warblers plus 2 Catbirds. Wood Thrush and Hooded Wabler (I think) singing
but not seen. Ace views of a pair of Pileated Woodpeckers feeding on the
ground mashing up rotten logs.
Still lots of White-throated Sparrows although all those piping away in my
back yard last week have now vanished.
Cheers
Gary Allport
