Just to let you know the bird was seen this morning from about 7:30 AM until
at least 9:15 AM. I observed it from about 8:10 AM until 9:15 AM, all the
while perched in a tree. A couple of Big Sit birders saw it earlier, and
pointed me in the right direction. They said the bird was in the highest
tree next to a pond, so it probably had been in the same location all
morning. It was drizzling while I was there, probably keeping the bird
down.

If you want to look for it, walk on the road leading from the back of the
office building (north?) maybe three hundred yards to an intersection and
you take the half left road past a number of plastic covered greenhouses on
your left, with some ponds on the right.

Maybe 20 yards past the greenhouses, there is a smaller road going straight
and one bearing half left. Take the road to the left, which goes straight
for maybe 100 yards, and then turns half right. I marked the place where
the road turns half right with a six foot branch laid across the road.

At the 'branch' look on the left side of the road into a pond surrounded by
trees (it is the first pond on your left past the greenhouses). At the far
side of the pond in the largest tree, maybe 75 yards away, was the Anhinga
perched high up in the tree. If you're looking at the right place, the bird
is obvious to the naked eye.

With the inclement weather and great habitat for the Anhinga, the bird may
stay in the same spot.

Good luck,
