New arrival in the park today was a singing SCARLET TANAGER. Also had a low flyover COMMON LOON and an immature SHARP-SHINNED HAWK that appeared chasing a large flock of Cedar Waxwings. Still one PURPLE FINCH.
Plenty of Yellow-rumps and several Parulas (first of the year for the park proper). When I came home I saw a Ruby-crowned Kinglet in the neighbor's tree and heard (but couldn't find) a mystery warbler near there--probably a Yellow, but I can't rule out Nashville. I really need to bone up on my warbler recordings!
