I watched TV later than usual, then got up late, so I decided it was a
good day to go to one of the places that doesn't open until 8AM. Chose
Patuxent N. over the Arboretum for no particular reason, and it turned
out to be a great choice. Found many more birds and species there than
ever before, 56 species in 4 hours. Because I'm still having lots of
trouble with my back & leg, I did almost everything from the car, so a
lot of the IDs were heard-only.
I guess the best bird of the day was a Bay breasted Warbler (heard-only,
TEE-see TEE-see TEE-see ...). I'll list the highlights below.
Getting treatment Thursday for the back/leg problem - will get (a) shot
in the back. Hope to be able to do more walking next weekend.
