A shorter ride and quiet birds made for a lower species 
count today, but I added a couple new year birds for the 
Paint Branch Stream Valley Park path: BLUE GROSBEAK and

Clear, cool, and breezy, like it's been the past week or so. 
Fairly quiet. New year bird: Indigo Bunting; new year bird 
for the path: Blue Grosbeak. Both were singing 
conspicuously. Glimpsed a large bird flying overhead, 
possibly a Great Blue Heron.
