After a weekend of birding elsewhere, nice to come out to an absolutely gorgeous morning at Ft. Bayard. The black cherry blossoms are now opening and attracting avian attention. But no major influx of new birds. Highlights were a singing BLUE-HEADED VIREO and a singing, itinerant, and maddeningly elusive YELLOW WARBLER (first in the park this year, though we've had them nearby). Finally tracked him down for a couple of seconds--amazing how hard it can be to find a bird that bright. Still plenty of yellow-rumps and chippies.
