Midday today, May 2nd, a male CERULEAN WARBLER was singing high in a
tree close to Milepost 27 on the C&O Canal, reached by walking
downstream from the parking lot at the end of Sycamore Landing Rd.,
Montgomery County. Along the towpath for one or two hundred yards
further downstream from MP 27, has been a dependable location for
Ceruleans in recent years.

At nearby Hughes Hollow, the Common Moorhen lingers on, easily seen
in the first impoundment on the left -- today associating with a pair
of Blue-winged Teal. A very vocal Warbling Vireo was heard on the
grassy cross-dike.

Good Birding.
