I birded the areas around the DC WWI Memorial and Constitution Gardens
this morning. Best bird of the day was a life CAPE MAY WARBLER. It was
foraging in one of the locust trees near the food kiosk at the west end
of the lake in Constitution Gardens. I couldn't ask for better looks at
a warbler.

Here are the rest:

Gray Catbird
Brown Thrasher (lots)
Veery (singing, WWI Mem.)
Hermit Thrush (Vietnam Mem.)
Wood Thrush
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
Red-eyed Vireo
Northern Parula
Yellow Warbler
CAPE MAY WARBLER (Lake)
Black-throated Blue Warbler (WWI Mem.)
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Black-throated Green Warbler (WWI Mem.)
PRAIRIE WARBLER (singing, Vietnam Mem.)
Scarlet Tanager (Vietnam Mem.)
Baltimore Oriole

Good birding,

John Beetham
