For those within easy striking distance of Chevy Chase, MD, there is 
good news:  the book store at Audubon Naturalist Society headquarters 
on Jones Mill Rd. has received a new shipment of the book, "The 
Shorebird Guide," by Michael O'Brien, Richard Crossley, and Kevin 
Karlson.  If you are at all interested in becoming really proficient 
at identifying shorebirds, you need this book.  At $24.95, it's a 
steal.  (No, I have no financial or other relationship with either 
the authors or the publisher.)

As an added bonus, there was a singing male Rose-breasted Grosbeak in 
a small tree right outside the book store entrance and a Blue-winged 
Warbler nearby.
