May Day at Rock Creek was very quiet, we need to have some westerly or southwesterly winds to get things mocing, not these unremitting northerlies. I was in Chesapeake VA all weekend at dogs shows, in a park that is normally very birdy, and it was also very quiet -- and that was 250 miles further south.

Anyway, we did have a few nice birds...

Warblers: Black-and-White (1), Blue-winged (1, seen by others, still in Maintenance Yard), HOODED (1, probable first-summer based on incomplete hood, singing at picnic area 17/18), Myrtle, (~20), Parula (2, nice close looks at one).

Other migrants: Red-eyed Vireo (2), Scarlet Tanager (1, heard only), Baltimore Oriole (1), Chipping Sparrow (15). One birder heard a distant Yellow-billed Cuckoo.

Pretty slow...going to Lilypons tomorrow, I think...but later in the week it should be better as winds go around and the night-time temperatures improve.
