Project Owlnet: Migration Monitoring of Northern Saw-whet Owls
David Brinkler, Md. Dept. of Natural Resources, will discuss what has been learned in recent years about the diminuitive Northern Saw-whet Owl. Once considered rare, Dave will present results from banding over 6,000 Saw-whet Owls in Maryland and West Virginia. Project Owlnet is a network of almost 100 banding stations spread across the continent that focuses on evaluating the species' population trend.
The lecture begins at 7:30 p.m., and the lecture fee is $5 for members, $8 for non-members. Refreshments are provided.
